Hello!
First off, I'd like to announce that the first chapter of my novel, and part of the second is now available online in either .txt or .PDF format.
My Novel Here - More to Come
As always, comments are appreciated even though it's early days yet.
This week saw me stressing to get my NLP (Natural Language Processing) assignment done by the deadline of midday today. I eventually started, and subsequently finished it in about 4 hours last night. I had one of those 'moments' where what looked like an insurmountable hurdle of scouring documents and calculating word frequencies unscrambled itself into fairly straightforward word count exercise and a short 4-page report. All I'll say is thank whoever invented Find & Replace.
My e-Science assignment handed in last week is in a spot of trouble, as for some reason it appears to be dated several days after it was submitted. I'm trying to find proof to sort this out, how remains to be seen.
My Disclosure Scotland response needed as part of my University job application finally arrived. It was clean as expected, however I did have to go and see Human Resources who wanted to speak to me about the whole 2002/2003 fiasco which was briefly documented (including the outcome) in the 'Other Information' part of the Disclosure.
( If you know what I'm talking about here's more )
I can't believe there's only one week and one assignment left to do before the hols start, and I can get down to finally getting my room done up and the new computer initiated, hopefully before Xmas. I will need to seriously start thinking about presents and cards, although like last year I think I'm going to stick to personalised e-mails instead of actual cards, simply because I enjoy being able to truly express my thanks and gratitude for all the person's done over the year, more than I can in a simple card. It may sound crass and a little 'simple', but I think that goes much further than a simple "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year" on a bit of cardboard. I'm also thinking I'll send round some fancy MMS's on the day itself with some pics from pastures afar.
Righto, well all for now, I'm hungry for a change so I'll go munch some. Cheers. H. |
