Hi. The last week has been quite interesting, culminating in an exciting event today that I'll discuss in a bit.The cordless phone set on mum's line which she received as a free gift was showing signs of imminent demise, so I had been tasked with finding a replacement. I was leaning between the
BT Synergy 4500 Twin and the
BT Diverse 6450 Twin handsets. In the end the 4500 won out as it was slightly cheaper, plus given where the phones will be placed the extra USB functionality of the 6450 would be wasted. The 4500 was still expensive though at GBP75.00 (I'll use the GBP format as pound signs aren't showing for some reason). Anyway mum brought it home from Tesco and it was all set up on Wednesday within about five minutes. One of the things I liked about this phone from the reviews I read on it is that the display is quite bright and easy to see, but I can already say my pet hate is that the keypad tones are quite loud and irritating, especially at night when it's quiet - they stand out like blaring horns.
Anyway thursday was shooting after a fortnight's break (or is it three weeks now?) and I got rounds 6-8 of the postal league completed.
( More )So to today's action. You may remember back at the start of July I put my name for the
Mike Devenney scholarship fund. Well I had an e-mail waiting for me this morning saying I'd been selected for the award. Great! I'll have to claim it through the University and am waiting now for written confirmation.
Well dinner is waiting so more from me laterz. Ciao!
